Go Air........Go Away!

Go Air, a no frill airline launched by the Wadia's recently, decided to do their bit towards 'social service'.
They chose to take 42 terminally ill children from Bai Jerbai Hospital-Mumbai, for a short airplane ride. The flight was delayed by 3 hours, for 3 hours these children were at the airport without any food provided by the airline staff. These children, all below the age of 12-had either cancer, were blind or other diseases. To put the icing..the airport did not have adqeuate space to seat all the children, so quite a few had to stand or lie down on the floor.
Can you imagine being so unwell, and then being made to wait at an airport?

What makes my blood boil is not only the ill treatment, but the attitude of Mr Jeh Wadia. On being questioned by a reporter present why the flight was so delayed, the prompt reply was "Its probably the first and last time these children are getting an opportunity to sit in an airplane, whats 2 hours of waiting for them"

Go Air.....Go Away!!!

I agree with u. this is what happenes when people do social service for show off resons. but no matter what they do they cant hide the dirt in the heart. people will always be able to look right through them. so when u do social service do it with all ur heart or not at all.

hey nice one though..but i personally feel that it is due to our ignorance that such things are happening. we must raise our voice by protesting, be it any means....thats the only way we can make a difference rather than being a spectator.
well done jyotiji.....keep it up...

Go Air should really GO AWAY . Mr. Wadia just wanted to follow what others had done before (sheepish mentality). As it is a no frill airline , I think one can expect the service that will be provided to the passengers when Mr. Wadia doesn't know how to treat mentally retarded children. To add to it , his comments that shows the arrogance which he carries with himself. Its high time these corporates show some social responsibility.

Talk about a sad attempt at image building! like my grandmother would say - Bimaar bachchon ki baddua lagegi.

Shocking .. truly.

@ vikash: mentally challenged is more apt than mentally retarded. At any rates these are terminally ill kids so either is inappropriate.

@nn: i have spent time with terminally ill kids. I can only say that even a mannequin would start crying. Mr. Jeh Wadi thou time shalst come.

A wasted and disgusting attempt at gaining publicity. Its truly amazing how low people will stoop, for a little "image building". I'm glad you wrote about this, it's important for people to be made aware of such organizations! Good job!

The bloody B***ards!!! Man... If I had a bamboo and some lime, I'd like to shove both up Jeh Wadia's rear and tell him that I was gonna do it for the last time anyway... so what was 2 hours of shoving anyway.... The impudent little piece of S**t!!!

And you base your story on what? Midday?

The first time I read the news I was pretty angered.

But then did Mr Wadia really say those words or did someone make them up??

Is anyone ready to vouch for those words having been said by Wadia and the children having not been fed?

The accomodation is of course another issue where the Babus of AAI couldn't make space for 42 children and their care givers. But then the AAI cannot offer toilet facilities to paying passengers, do you think they can give seats to children?

Then you guys don't know what kind of organization AAI is.

(AAI = Airport Authority of India)
